Our restaurant in Stellenbosch has just re-opened as Le Grande Domaine Cantina by Chef’s Warehouse. With celebrity chefs Liam Tomlin and David Schneider at the helm, you can expect an innovative Spanish menu paired with superb award-winning Cabernet wines from our cellars here at Le Grand Domaine, alongside wines from our wineries in Argentina and Switzerland.
Movie nights under the stars
Book a movie night for family and friends: we’ll screen your favourites on the lawn outside the glasshouse with popcorn. Lie back and enjoy!
Healing spa treatments
Surprise a friend or loved one with a spa treatment that can be enjoyed in the dappled sunlight of our Floral Chapel overlooking the dam or in the comfort of the villa.
Cooking with friends
From relaxed and fun cookery courses to build-your-own pizza evenings around the dam, elegant dinners in the dining room or a traditional braai, food is a focus here. You simply need to ask and we’ll organise!
Lawn games or anyone for padel?
If croquet, boules or French cricket on the lawn is just too gentrified, the Padel courts are also right on your doorstep! Situated at the entrance to Devon Valley Road at the Woodmill, a team padel event is a great way to end the day after a day in Stellenbosch.
Le Grand Jardin offers luxury villa accommodation for 12 guests in the heart of the Stellenbosch winelands, just 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town and 10 minutes from Stellenbosch. Ideal for multigenerational family gatherings or weekends with special friends, it’s set in beautiful gardens, with a glasshouse and chapel – the perfect venue for a special celebration with family and friends.

Wine at the villa
What makes our offering so exclusive to guests at the villa is that Le Grand Domaine is currently not open to the public, yet you and your guests have access to the wines. We can organise a private tasting whenever you wish at the villa, whether you’d like to have a cosy tasting in the cellar or tasting room, a wine pairing at a dinner hosted by our chef, or a laid-back introduction in the glasshouse over lunch. The choice is yours!
For private stays, you’re more than welcome to bring your own wines, but should you wish to order Le Grande Domaine wines for your stay, please let us know when you confirm your booking. For corporate events, weddings or elopements, all wines and Méthode Cap Classique needs to be ordered from Le Grand Domaine.
Sisters in soil and spirit
Our remarkable all-woman winemaking team at Le Grand Domaine, Debbie Thompson, Yolande van Staden and Mosima Mabelebele, have reason to be proud. Their 2022 vintage Le Grand Vin de Stellenbosch 'La Grande Sélection' Cabernet Sauvignon was recently awarded two of the highest honours at the 2025 International Wine Challenge.
Praised by the judges for its dense, youthful colour, and complex character of cassis, blackcurrant, bouquet garni and graphite, it was placed ahead of contenders from Bordeaux, Napa and Coonawarra and won both The International Cabernet Sauvignon Trophy and the South African Cabernet Sauvignon Trophy!
